Message from Chairman
Coming from one of the most under-developed economy of the world, I have seen numbers of disappointment, annoyance, anger, frustration and irritation. I have seen people being pessimist about change, and development all my life. I just describe myself as an optimist person who is working hard to begin the revolution of change my nation needs with myself. This vision has led me to establish Sher Bahadur Khadka Memorial Trust in the name of my late father, Sher Bahadur Khadka who spent all his life serving the needy ones. Even being the Pradhan Panch at the then Panchayat Regime, he always focused on development activities at the local level.
Our organization aims towards working in Education, Health and Sports as our key areas in the future as I believe these are the weapons needed to empower rural communities of Nepal. In a country where poverty is the biggest enemy of the normal people, if we charge money for education and health, there will be very less involvement with these facilities. So, I have envisioned my organization to provide free education and free health services to the marginalized people of Nepal through national and international partnerships in the coming years. When I mean “free” unlike the current practices of various organizations, I have planned to deliver it with a level of standard quality.
Currently at SBKM Trust, we have completely focused our activities on creating impact in Women’s Sport of Nepal. In the last three years we have organized 3 National Women’s Volleyball Tournament. We have also sponsored New Diamond Academy, a national women’s volleyball team for two years. We have also been supporting various national and international volleyball tournament organized by Nepal Volleyball Association. Besides volleyball, Sher Bahadur Khadka Memorial Trust has also been organizing Open Badminton Tournament.
This would have never been possible with the help of many governmental, non-governmental, and corporate organizations. I would like to thank all of them and hope for their precious support forever which will help us to come par to our vision.
